My fam did a pre-new year celebration in Austin Texas! We went down there for the KU and UT basketball game (Rock Chalk!) but we also did a little exploring. My dad is a huge foodie, meaning he loves to try hip new restaurants and fun places. That being said we had a field day in Austin. They have some of the funnest places to go and it seems like there is a food truck on every corner. We loved it. Our first stop was called Wild Chix & Waffles. It had coffee house vibes with a crazy menu full of options containing fresh fried chicken and waffles! SO yummy! So bad for you hahah. Then for dinner that night we went to Matt’s, a famous Mexican restaurant. It was delish! Then Friday we ate some yummy breakfast tacos at Whole Foods and ate a quick dinner before the game!

It was so much fun to get away from home for a few days and just be together. I enjoy family time more than anything. I am so happy that the Lord has blessed me with my goofy people.

We got back to Rockwall Saturday afternoon and just chilled out. Then we had the most laid back New Year’s Eve ever! Hahah I loved it. Mom and I spent sometime at Northpark mall that day and then my parents and I flipped between watching Black Mirror and the Dick Clark New Years show all night.

I am sorry that this blog is all over the place but speaking of the new year, I want to share some of my New Year’s resolutions with you guys. For those of you who read a lot of blogs I am sure that you are tired of this. I just thought that it would be cool to post these goals as a way of holding myself to them.

  1. Listen better- I catch myself saying all the time that I am listening to God and I am waiting for his plan, but in reality I am trying to figure out life on my own. I want to work on burying scripture in my heart and listen to God’s will.
  2. Read and Write More- I find that I feel the most connected to God when I am in his word and when I take notes on it. I want to read more scripture but also just read more in general. I want to keep up with world events better and read more novels.
  3. Take More Pics- I have always thought photography is cool but know nothing about it. I would love to work on upping my photo game to make this blog prettier:)
  4. “Trust the Lord with all your heart, all your soul and all of your mind.”- I want to worry less! And the great truth that is our freedom in Jesus.

These are somethings that I want to do in 2018. I hope that you guys are having an amazing year so far!
